Prebuilt Segments

Overview

The Prebuilt Segments feature helps the business users of Omnichannel Personalization to select the required standard segments from the segment library from the Segment Builder module and create their copies in custom segments list. The segment which is chosen by user from the segment library, appears in the custom segments list as the copy of itself.

Segments are groups of users according to meaningful merchant-defined attributes like age, gender, demonstrated behavior, and spend. Both Recommend and Engage make use of segments in determining recs and content. Merchants can provide their pre-defined segments via a feed and this document describes that feed format and process for providing that data to Algonomy.

This document should be used in tandem with the Segment feed page in our developer documentation. Using the Segment Feed is easier than manually adding each segment because it automates the process.

Following segments are available in the Prebuilt Segments Library:

  • Abandoned Cart: Segment includes the users who have added items to the cart, but did not purchase.

  • Abandoned Browse: Segment includes the users who have watched items, but did not purchase.

To access Prebuilt Segments:

  1. On the Omnichannel Personalization dashboard page, go to Content > Segment Library.

    The Segments page is displayed.

  2.  Click the Prebuilt Segments tab to view the prebuilt segments.

  3. Click to copy the prebuilt segment.

  4. Specify a new name for the segment.

  5. Click Save. The new segment copied from the prebuilt segments is displayed in the custom segment list.
