Find Admin Guide

Overview

There are a number of different ways that administrators can affect the way Find functions. There are configurable weights, attributes and merchandising rules that all work together to control Find functions. This document will give you an overview to what these are and link you to more in depth topics and how-to. With the right configurations, retailers can get the most out of their Find installation.

The controls talked about in this overview will affect the performance of Find. If you are unsure about how each change will affect your search results, consult with your Algonomy team.

Find uses the same feeds as Recommend, and independent APIs along with configurations that can be adjusted on the Omnichannel Personalization dashboard

Wisdom of Crowd

Wisdom of the Crowds for Find helps determine how well search terms correlate to products by accumulating user activity, views and purchases of products, that are attributable to search results.

  • Tracking data records view and purchase events for products with the search term used to get the results

  • A job runs daily to accumulate the tracking events and associates the search terms to products with a score

  • The catalog index job supplements the catalog data with the wisdom of the crowd data, adding woc_v_X and woc_p_X attributes to products (where X is a score between 1 and 10) with corresponding search terms

Merchandising Rules

Similar to the way Merchandising Rules work in Recommend, the merchandising rules in Find provide clients with the ability to perform actions based on a user's context.

Boosting Rules

Boosting rules are used to promote specific products to the top of the search results.

Search Attributes

Search attributes can be configured a number of ways, using the interface on the Personalization dashboard.

The Attribute Configuration page lists canonical attributes and catalog feed attributes that have been edited. The retailer can configure the attribute.
