Feeds

Overview

Data feeds bring detailed information about your products into the Omnichannel Personalization. This data, combined with information from the clickstream, is essential for personalizing your customer’s experiences. It is important that these feeds be as clean as possible and set up per the documentation in the Feed Guide.

Data feeds are usually required early in the integration process to test and ensure proper functioning and integrity of project timelines.

FAQs regarding Feeds

Product Catalog Feed

The catalog feed provides the Omnichannel Personalization with all product and category information needed to generate and display personalized recommendations. The feed is typically uploaded once per day to the Algonomy FTP server.

Flat File Delta Feed

You can use the delta feed to update product price, sale price, attribute, and recommendability status multiple times per day.

SKU Feed

The SKU feed is only needed if you’re participating in our program for SKU functionality.

This SKU Feed must be included in the Product Feed that is uploaded every day as a .zip or .gz file. In addition to the SKU feed, you will need to add SKUs to your instrumentation in order to support this functionality.

Segment Feed

Segments are groupings of users according to meaningful merchant-defined attributes like age, gender, demonstrated behavior, and spend.

This segment feed does not need to be uploaded daily; it should be uploaded only when there are changes or updates to the segment data. This is usually scheduled to happen on a regular basis, be it weekly, monthly, or another suitable interval.

Product Region Flat File Feed

The Product Region Feed is used to provide Algonomy with regional availability and pricing information for your product catalog. It can also provide localized naming for products and categories.

The Product Region Feed is included in the compressed Catalog Feed file and uploaded daily with it.

Offline Data Feed

Offline data is merchant information that is not directly collected by Algonomy. Some examples include in-store (POS) transactions, call center transactions, marketing segments, other marketing data, and social media interactions.

Content Feed

This document should be used in tandem with the Product Feed document

The Content Feed is how you supply Algonomy with content for use with Engage. It consists of three separate files, included inside the standard compressed Catalog Feed that you send at least once a day. This data does not need to be sent every day: it is only needed if and when there are changes to the content.
